Steve Morrow, who co-directed the 2002 World Series of PokerŪ while guiding PokerStars.com from a start-up to the #2 position in the online poker industry, today announced the formation of Paradigm Poker Consultants, Inc. The company will offer expertise to new and developing online poker rooms who face a daunting challenge in luring players away from the established rooms.
The Poker Industry, particularly the online segment, has exploded in the last two years, according to Morrow. Poker players now wager more than 0 million daily in the 200+ online poker rooms, though the overwhelming majority is wagered in the five or six largest rooms. The incentive for a new room to strive for the upper echelon of the industry is huge.
Tournament Poker has seen tremendous growth. The stunning results of the last two Championship Events of the World Series of PokerŪ, which saw Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer parlay inexpensive online tournament wins into .5 Million and Million paydays, coupled with the phenomenal success of televised tournaments, has fueled a virtual frenzy in tournament play.
